She cynically bought votes with huge discounts to council tenants. Often often with relatives greedily seeing a chance of eventually cashing in. I know Lab. and Lib. supporters who bought their parents council houses and now they rent out as private landlords like ladies who do! Capitalism corrupts

Tonight we're celebrating 10 years of Rewilding Britain (@rewildingbritain.org.uk). I don't think I've ever come across an organisation which has shifted both public attitudes and tangible outcomes on an issue so fast. I'm proud to be associated.

The two child benefit cap is the biggest single driver of child poverty.
It imposes hardship on kids, ignores changing family circumstances - and as the research shows, has no impact on family size.

Sure, but the government was forced into this because their programme is so disastrously unpopular, even their party’s most timid and compliant MPs felt they had to draw a line somewhere. The lesson taken from all this is going to be: better things are not possible, it’s the glue farm for the poor.
