I had someone tell me that Trans people saying they won't vote for Newsom are "out of place." When asked to clarify what "place" he thought was appropriate for oppressed minorities in this discussion he got very upset with me that I would phrase it like that.

Voting for the lesser of two evils in the General is common-sense. But shutting up about how the lesser of two evils is still evil is a servile and anti-democratic way to live life.
Also, the people demanding you shut up about the evil stuff tend mostly to go after minorities. Funny about that.

But Trump's VA has now decided it won't fill thousands of open positions.

almost nobody is willing to update their priors, but when your entire brand is "we are only following where the data leads us" and then you refuse to change your views when the data doesn't back you up that sort of gives the game away
matt & co’s theory of how public opinion on immigration would respond to new information was simply empirically wrong.
at this point the only reasonable conclusion is they refuse to update their priors w/ new data because the data is inconvenient for them

Gee it’s almost like progressives are correct about why Democrats lost on 2024 but the leadership can’t admit that.
So, I really dislike the people who couldn't suck it up and vote for Harris because "she would be just as bad."
But there are a lot of people here who have a weird hard-on for painting every minority pushing for stronger support from the Dems with that brush.
