del Toro‘s Frankenstein was pretty great. It takes some liberties with the original text as most adaptations have and del Toro weaves in many of his obsessions in ways that feel like they belong there. Monster fuckers will enjoy The Monster, but it’s also for the Monster romantics.

So…..Starmer is moving to ban protests against genocide in order to root out the tiny contingent of antisemites who take part (reminder these marches also contain a large Jewish bloc/descendants of Holocaust survivors) but won’t ban future Unite the Kingdom rallies which are explicitly Islamophobic.

Needless to say, he was THE movie poster artist and pretty much illustrated every formative film from my childhood and beyond. I feared this news would be soon following his Alzheimer's diagnosis and I hope he got to see the outpouring of love and respect from his fans.
