Have I mentioned lately that Heritage has a journalism fellowship named after the Guardabassi family, the male head of which was one of Mussolini's emissaries in the US in the 1930s, while his wife was a leading funder of US antisemites & neo-Nazis in the 1950s-60s? “Our own people.”
Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts stands by Tucker Carlson after the former Fox News host release his controversial interview with Nick Fuentes.

“Why have countries that have moved an ever-growing share of social interactions into a frictionless online space, where political claims are validated or invalidated by popularity alone, seen a commensurate rise in extreme political factions driven by emotional catharsis and decoupled from reality”
Oh boy, and it’s as sad sack as one would imagine.
There is no way it cannot be seen as simply a way to grab more people, to avoid human involvement, documents and any viable accountability process.
I think that’s the easiest way to boil down a lot of reaction views to homelessness, addition and people in need of help or accommodations. ‘Can i just not have to see or care?’

Under Trump, the draconian future of homelessness policy is coming into focus: mass internment. Utah is building a 16-acre site to detain up to 1,300 homeless people inside locked "accountability centers." This is profoundly alarming.

Huge contrast with them illegally refusing to make SNAP payments.

What we’re seeing from the White House is them moving heaven and earth to pay what they want to pay, even if it’s illegal — and moving heaven and earth to NOT pay what they don’t want to pay, even if it’s illegal.

Earlier today in Gresham, Oregon (a suburb just outside of Portland), a US citizen was detained by ICE after taking photos of their unmarked vehicles. US Gestapo smashed the persons car windows before detaining them. They have since been released.

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

NEW: The entire staff supporting ACIP was laid off, and most working groups haven't met in months.

That means the US may not make routine vaccine recommendations for more than half of children in 2026, and it could halt new vaccines in the pipeline. My latest:

I really wonder how mentions will go in the run-in to next mid-term election, with everything being supposedly at the desk of the republican in charge and actions would well drive up real crime stats again.
