one of my most niche complaints is that i've read several sci fi stories that are basically the Vietnam War But In Space where the vietnamese are giant bug aliens (i swear there is more than one story with this premise) and over the course of the story we learn it is bad to be racist to giant bugs

I was on a really high dose of antidepressants and I didnt notice the side effects for years and years because the depression had been so much worse. When the side effects became unmanageable I was able to get off the pills ... turns out I noticed them because I was cured of the depression
I’m broadly sympathetic fwiw to the notion that some psychiatric drugs are a minefield because the effects are extremely obscure even and especially to the patient. doesn’t mean we shouldn’t use them, just means handle with care. but stimulant meds for ADHD have nearly the least of that problem
