I think what's bothering me about all these statements I'm seeing from politicians that are variations of "Israeli hostages and Palestinians are returning to their homes, yay" is that Israelis are returning to their homes and Palestinians are returning to uninhabitable post apocalyptic rubble.

The homes Israeli hostages return to VS the homes Gazans return to

The is no going back to “normal” for them. They are now living in a rubble ridden hellscape while the western world moves on, pretending it didn’t fund and approve this.

Every since I first entered contact with Sakher, he has always been taking care of his community, family, and friends. He and his family are still in a tent as winter approaches. They need food, shelter, medicine.

I do not have the right words to express the emotions of the passed few days. May the martyrs be found and given the peaceful rest they deserve. 🕊

After 18 years in solitary confinement, Palestinian detainee Nedal Abu Akr has been set free from Israeli prisons as part of the exchange deal between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation.

Israel had been kidnapping, imprisoning, and torturing Palestinians since way before 2023 and we have to acknowledge that. The occupation of Palestine has been going on for much longer. The siege was an escalation of already ongoing aggression by Israel.

Israel needs to be actively disarmed. We clearly cannot trust the occupying force to keep to their words.
Palestine cannot be free as long as Israel is allowed to act without consequences.

A UK doctor who worked in Gaza both before and after October 2023 tells BBC viewers that Israel had been imposing a siege on the strip for years prior, tightly controlling entry and restricting what people could bring with them.

Gaza has been under a blockade for the last 18 years. Since 2005.
