OMG because I'm obsessed with how many plants are decidedly trying to not be eaten and humans are like "Okay, so boil and strain it 2 times, youll lose your sight, 3 times and you might hallucinate for half a day but 4 times? That's some good eats right there!"

Why are we like this?

My strongest book-related belief is that the paperback should come first and then the hardback after for people who want a fancy edition.

Anybody whose worth their salt will not collect your data , they will have ways for you to contact them after

Don’t put any contact info on ANYTHING
Apparently, ICE has set up a website to trap individuals attempting to do the right thing. Please exercise caution.

Seeking book recs: transmasc authors of color, any genre, not YA (I already know of Thomas and Edgmon and Callender and am struggling to come up with someone who is not YA)

Please do no reply with transfem or white authors.
I'M TRYING TO DISSOCIATE FROM WORKING ON THIS SITE. IT'S ONLY BEEN 20 MINUTES AND I HATE EVERYTHING
YOU'RE NOT MY DAD!!! (Although this did get me into gear this morning but grumble grumble)

The use of AI to marionette a woman whose tortured existence was spent trying to carve her own life and identity out of the space men forced her into is both damningly macabre and a surprisingly perfect encapsulation of the problems with this ghoulish use of technology.
My sister can't even get through the first line of Somewhere Out There without crying and as I've gotten older, I can't either😭
Dreams to Dream and The Girl You Left Behind from Fievel Goes West (Deep cut, lol), Let Me Be Good To You from Great Mouse Detective, Another Believer from Meet the Robinsons, One Little Slip from Chicken Little, Down to Earth from Wall-E (And probably sneak in Sunday Clothes from Hello Doly)
What's Up Danger and like, half of the Into the Spiderverse soundtrack, We Don't Talk About Bruno and What Else Can I Do from Encanto (Yes, it was overplayed but it's still a bop), I Wanna Be Like You from Jungle Book, Never Had A Friend Like Me from Aladdin, Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast

This -- seeing the books that are being targeted most NOW really makes what is being done hit harder. It actually undercuts the real threat to show books that are famous and still selling fine.
A call to bookshops when setting up banned books displays. Feature alive authors who could be struggling due to this. Yes, Stephen King gets banned but he's doing ok financially. So many others are not.
Just a reminder that Banned Books Week isn’t about selling more copies of 1984. It’s about keeping authors and teachers and librarians safe and making sure all of us have the freedom to read widely. www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...
I totally missed @tallulahshark.bsky.social! Okay so ArchNemesis has 10/15 and 10/22

Myth has 10/29 and Tallulah can get 11/5 while infight the temptation of all so giving away 11/12

Cooked as a country when art can’t be made because we have to take into account the fee-fees of Klan members.
Some folks' eagerness to keep a car note is ridiculous

If it still works, why would I let it go?
Explaining to people why i won’t trade in a car with a quarter of a million miles on it <<<<

It is amazing how much the brain does when you tell it to take a break and go on a walk.
When I struggled with something writing-wise I take a walk. And 100% of the time I end up figuring out the solution. I would never, ever, ever, ask a machine to do that for me. Wtf.
The only correct take on a fundamentally anti-human technology.
I actually use both interchangeably. I just don't like the idea of only one right answer

That said, shopping wagon is weird
Well, this is a Krogers household and we push carts
You carry a BASKET, you push a CART and even if I was wrong, YOURE NOT MY DAD, ITS A CART
Idk who needs to hear this but it’s a basket, not a cart!

Idc idc idc!!
Bruh, especially with the whole problem of personal body chemistry and smells don't be smelling on you the same way as it does for someone else!
