I've used Calibri for several years now because...I like it. Glad to know it's easier for more people to read.

Amazon is making money off AI copies of books - and putting the onus on authors to prove they’ve been plagiarised.

Honestly, just stop buying books from Amazon. Get them from an actual bookshop or order them from a reputable book supplier like bookshop.org

Strange that House Republicans weren't able to solve this problem in a two hour meeting after procrastinating for all of 2025 and generally failing to come up with a health care plan for the last 16+ years

99% of the people on the street who asked me for money, when I say sorry I don't have change, their response is thanks, have a nice day. I wouldn't put that in the harassment bucket, that's for sure.
"Someone asked me for money while I was walking" is not harassment jfc

Yes, though this is how we get people like Logan Paul.
You should be able to get rich being silly online instead of being evil online, that would solve a lot of problems

Something super-fun to break up the horror show that is *flails arms in all directions*. The Grand Prix Final just finished up, and here's Yuma Kagiyama's marvelous, boppy short program to Stevie Wonder's "I Wish." He's our favorite!

You were not born
to doubt, to stumble,
to soften against
the steel of the dark,
you were made
for brightness
& brilliance,
a fierce fiend
for kindness--
you are far stronger
than you think,
& the villain
in this story
shudders to recall
the moment you remember
the way your heart
beats.

This.

And trust me when I say that individual posting about books you read and loved has far more influence than you might think. People notice this. They remember when shopping titles for their next read. Savvy publicists notice and will share. A human connection is priceless.
Reminder! "Best Of" lists are tied to publicity and marketing budgets, who is able to hire publicists, what books made it to the top of a TBR stack *thousands* of arcs tall, and the shrinking # of outlets still doing book coverage.
Talk about your favorite books!
They likely weren't read. ❤️📚
A lot of Best Of lists are now out or on their way. Congrats to you all. It’s an accomplishment I hope every writer gets to experience at one time or another. Not everyone will, though, and to those writers, know I see you too. Keep telling your stories. Regardless of lists, the world needs them.

What’s the worst question someone can ask after you tell them your profession? For linguists, it’s definitely “how many languages do you speak?”, but I’m curious what else is happening to the rest of y’all out there?!
