I like the lore of Silent Hill, specifically the first and third games, but what’s so masterful is how that stuff is conveyed visually and with the setting. Spelling it all out with exposition weakens the whole experience. Not a bad movie though.

Fair enough, my bad. Mark seems like a knowledgeable dude so I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, as per Tomino’s directorial idiosyncrasies. I liked the AWO episode about Xabungle, which had a lot of befuddlement at its influences and tone.

I love seeing Fish Police stuff, because it's my favorite early Simpsons imitator. It's such an odd misfire: based on a comic it barely resembles, celebrity voices, routine Saturday-morning style awkwardly mixed with adult humor, a brief merchandising push, and canceled after three episodes.
