nuzzi / lizza misconduct imo enabled the destruction of so much public health & scientific research — and a resurgence in measles in the US. this is not petty tabloid gossip or inside baseball. that they went undetected or were rewarded while great reporters were laid off? it’s a huge system failure

The “Real Poverty Line” pieces remind me: NM Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham may go down as one of the most CONSEQUENTIAL govs for progressive policies (universal college, universal childcare, cash xfers for homeless students) and one of the most CONTROVERSIAL for how it was possible (oil & gas $$).

NEW data I've received: Just 5% of people detained by ICE since October 1 have had violent criminal convictions, 3/4 had no criminal convictions at all. Most "criminals" had immigration, traffic, and vice offenses. Not the "worst of the worst"...

Gender-affirming care saves lives
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.

It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.

It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.

Transgender care saves lives.
Study In The Journal Of Pediatrics Finds Trans Youth Care Lowers Suicidality, Few Detransition
The groundbreaking study found that suicidality dropped for transgender youth receiving hormone therapy by nearly 70%, with only 7 patients of 432 discontinuing treatment.

And he was nowhere near the drafting of that Ukraine 'peace plan,' which was instead devised by the president's real-estate buddy and his son-in-law.

Trump, DOGE, and the GOP are eviscerating core grants and feasting on the corpses. $120M cut for more tax breaks to the rich, to crack the fed $$ pinata for private profiteering, and to slam the US into ignorance. And it's not even saving money - spending is higher (not that we'd see the savings).
