Gavin Newsom should buy the Reagan anti-tariff ad from Ontario and keep running it with a California logo at the end.

do the YYZ-JFK flights ( as opposed to the more usual YYZ-LGA flights) exist mostly to provide Toronto fliers with international connections unavailable at YYZ (YYZ is Toronto Pearson). @airlineflyer.net @ryanhassett.bsky.social

is there a similar london map? @alonlevy.bsky.social know any London posters who could help
The first upzoning Zohran should push for is the Upper East & Upper West Side, two of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the city with the least housing production.

things have gotten so bad on the UES that apartment buildings are being torn down and replaced by *smaller* buildings with fewer units

not idea what’s physically possible but widening the Hilton passageway with good signage, adding more open space in general on the lower level and extending the central corridor to njtransit / amtrak tracks would help a lot. worst current issues are with njtransit

I have a Grand Unified Theory of Recent Polling Errors

-there is a crucial population of people who occasionally vote, usually only in presidential elections, but don't pay attention to politics and never answer their phones
-they are the dark matter of polling, visible only by their absence
Good summary of why pollsters whiffed in VA and NJ. TLDR: electorate looked like 2017 when pollsters assumed it would look like 2024, plus Latino turnout exploded.

Pollsters Didn’t See the Blue Wave Coming in New Jersey and Virginia
Pollsters say they miscalculated who would show up to vote and a leftward shift by Latino voters.

@alonlevy.bsky.social made a post on deinterlining nyc subways that i remember quite well. The MTA has partly done #5: keeping the E/F together until manhattan rather than doing a M/F switch in LIC. rest of #5 is much more involved pedestrianobservations.com/2018/06/12/h...
