Soooo....the only way to get Democratic Senators to actually fight fascism is to withhold donations for any candidate while Schumer is leader? Is that where we're at?

Schumer is either too weak to hold his caucus together, or he's in on it. Either way it's time for him to go.

This piece is fantastic, arguing that the path forward is to stick to a real moral center and pull others in, not to compromise your values away.

“You don’t buy into the MAGA lies to get supporters. You give them a vision of what you support, and you call them to it.”
I really appreciated this thoughtful piece about Ta-Nehisi Coates & Ezra Klein. Andrea Pitzer says “lost” folks like Klein “don’t have a clear idea how this moment fits into history and what it is exactly that they’re doing”. [degenerateart.beehiiv.com]
You don’t have to swallow frogs
Klein and Coates show that if you don’t know what your core beliefs are, you’re going to get played.

So bring together all your generals in one place & show them how insane you are. Do you want a coup? Because this is how you get a coup.

People keep asking what the Democrats should demand in exchange for budget votes. My answer is: Nothing. Just don't vote for it. Make the Republicans own all of this.

So bad.The EO institutionalizes and intensifies the politicization of federal research funding. The provisions weaken scientific expertise in funding decisions and effectively cede control to political appointees. The basic logistics here will also further slow walk release of federal research funds

But in the meantime, why not slap “powered by AI” on your toilet brush and win over a few extra customers from your competitors. This is essentially what you’re seeing now with every single company just ham fisting some half-baked LLM chatbot into their workflow.

maybe it's anti-innovation, maybe it's just avoiding hype. But one thing is clear, I'm completely done with hearing about AI.
