May all beings be happy
All beings without exception
Weak or strong, omitting none
Great or mighty, seen & unseen
Near & far
Born or yet unborn
May all beings be happy
Let no one deceive another
Or despise anyone anywhere
Or in anger wish another harm
May all beings be happy

I don't usually read horror but Sarah Gailey's Just Like Home, read by the fantastic Xe Sands, is outstanding on many levels. A great example of a writer USING a genre (in this case, gothic horror) instead of slavishly staying within its bounds.
1. This is the most recent. I hardly ever read scifi, can't do tech

2. It wasn't that it tempted me. It was just an ALC I got att and I was on a spooky read roll, it def helped that it was queer. It's such an interesting read: social/tech critique, dystopian, fantastical, and horror! #bookvember

In Alabama, incarcerated workers in a work-release program must take jobs at private companies—but 40% of their wages are docked as a “labor-trafficking fee.” A lawsuit brought by incarcerated people argues this is a modern form of convict leasing.

My current WIP will probably have people talking about their extrarational experiences - anything from taking hallucinogens to weird dreams to shamanic journeys to psychosis.
What kind of conversations will your book inspire? I hope when I finally get my latest WIP out there that people will look at Sicilian culture as it is, not how it’s presented in movies #writingq #WritingCommunity

What a great question!

"Believe Me," my book about #mentalhealth and addiction is MADE to start conversations. Actually, I have an online series about it. Next one Jan 18.

Seriously, the article mentions 11 people killed on or by ebikes and emotorcycles over the course of a few years. Cars kill over 40,000 people in the US each year, including people on ebikes.
Wait until they hear about cars.
But seriously - yes, agree, regulate e-bikes. But also give them space and infrastructure: protected bike lanes and designated and required parking spaces.
