While in Jersey we stopped by Tattooville in Neptune, a shop owned by an ex-student and long time friend, Pat Dean, who did Lynn’s mermaid. Her first tattoo.

Me and Lynn are on the road again, looking for adventure and whatever comes our way. In other words, driving to Jersey. We listened to the Christmas Carol, read by Tim Curry. Spectacular reading. And the book itself is so great. The perfect ghost story and it never gets old. Made the miles fly by.

My new axe. I’ve long lost track of how many keyboards I’ve had and used up. I really pound away on them. I like this kind — Red Dragon. Jack turned me onto them. It’s a gaming keyboard and has mechanical action in the keys so as I push into the story I can feel some resistance. Onward!

Today, in Philadelphia, the last penny will be minted. You know you're old if you lived through a time when you could actually purchase something for one cent.

Even though I don’t usually post photos of myself online, every year for the past decade I’ve posted a photo of myself on FB the day before my birthday as a means of keeping track. Tomorrow I’ll be 70. Good lord, it’s come to this. To quote Emerson, “As we get older, the beauty steals inward.”
