The way companies are using generative AI to create "placeholders" and "concept art" isn't actually an improvement in the process of those things - it's a symptom of the pathology where executives expect things the audience will never see to be polished for some stupid reason

I don't want to be a "I'm not surprised" guy but covid made it clear that a substantial part of the population wants the freedom to do whatever they want even if it kills them and/or others
strangers are fighting to the death in my menchies over this pretty innocuous take and slinging devastating counterarguments like “what if I had to run away from a murderer” and “I like speeding”
one of my longstanding takes is that car manufacturers should be forced to install mandatory speed limiters in every new vehicle and people react to that like I'm advocating to strip them of their right to free speech

for this to work i think they would need to completely overhaul the jury process. have the jury actually talk and make their cases for WHY a specific game not everyone might have played has the best level design or combat. because otherwise it just remains a popularity contest
One easy fix would be to eliminate categories based on genre or whatever “indie” means and instead get granular about craft (best level design, best world, best combat, etc) which would probably pose other problems but at least make for more interesting conversations and honor specific people

The ACA isn't just "health care for people who don't have a conventional employer." It also disallows something that was incredibly common 20 years ago, which I fear is getting lost to generational memory: insurance companies could deny you health care for essentially any previous health problem.
I'm dubious about Amazon's commitment to keeping pre-existing conditions a thing of the past.
