Please, I need some more financial support for my podcast, it would be greatly appreciated.
Poema is a fabulous podcast (found everywhere podcasts are found). I love listening to James host his guests with care and thoughtfulness 💜

Please contribute if you can to help James keep producing Poema this year! 💖✨
So the Poema Podcast will be back with a special guest next week, have a lot of great episodes lined up this year.

However I need finanical support to keep making the podcast. If you could pledge a regular donation to my Paypal, I'd be grateful.

hello trans, enby, genderfluid and all other girlies! this is my annual post about gender affirming care as a cis woman.

I started doing this a few years ago — now I do it annually after my first dermaplaning (which was yesterday).

Here's my face this morning, post-skincare. A thread 🧵

it's an oligarchy

(the necessary alt text for the OP would read: a screenshot of a tweet saying "why does America put income caps on disabled people but not billionaires")

them: "every woman I've had sex with just doesn't really seem to be into it"

me: "sir, you are the common denominator in every scenario here"
Men who think sex is purely transactional for women, and that they don't enjoy it, are really telling on themselves. Women are some of the nastiest, horniest, freakiest humans alive.

We’re close to losing Sesame Street, a show that was started to provide free educational media to marginalized kids in our country.

That’s not an accident in my opinion and it’s just one more example of how Capitalism robs our society of the sweet and good things we build to care for one another.
HBO has declined to renew “Sesame Street” for new episodes. The series that’s been teaching generations of little kids since 1969 now has no studio.

Please consider donating to Sesame Workshop to ensure the residents of 123 Sesame Street are still around to teach kids of all needs and backgrounds.

My doctor just started me on a new med and admitted to me that most insurances don't cover it, and without insurance it's $500 per bottle, so she then gave me a website to order from Canada if my insurance doesn't cover it (which, thankfully, it does for now)

It's not the docs.
When my health insurance stopped covering insanely expensive meds that literally kept me out of the hospital, my GI took every sample bottle she could find in the city (called other docs too) and filled up a Ralph's bag with it and dropped it off at my house.

It's not the docs.
Health insurance industry PR is working overtime right now diverting blame to physicians for claim denials and rising costs. I feel compelled to remind everybody that Optum (UHC) is the largest employer of physicians in the US. We have never had less power in healthcare than we do right now.

this quote on Al Jazeera sums up the celebration I saw in downtown Raleigh yesterday, too — so much to celebrate right now even if there's still a road ahead for rebuilding and figuring out the future

this is why I call myself "Christian-adjacent" — I hold mystery and wonder and hope, and I know most Christians would not consider me as one of them, but I grew up in their tradition and my sense of hope was born from there. I detangled myself from their systems, but I still seek light.

When I had United Healthcare, I finally decided to see a vocal specialist (in network) to see if there was therapy for my Dysphonia and throat pain.

$500 a visit. I could not afford it and I was actually losing my voice forever.

I'm with Aetna now and it's a $30 copay every visit.
Fwiw United Healthcare sucks immensely. When my first kid was born, we made the mistake of double-insuring him through me and his dad, who had United. The result was both insurance companies claimed the other was primary AND PAID 0$ towards my kid’s first 2 years of healthcare.
