Global Assessment - Brown Climate Social Science Network
Climate advocacy has not failed, climate policy has been sabotaged, explains a new open access book, Climate Obstruction: A Global Assessment.

Obstruction is the missing piece on why we have insufficient action on climate.

This could really be a game changer.
🧊A landmark case brought by Peruvian farmer Saúl Luciano Lliuya against German energy giant RWE earlier this year has reshaped how courts view climate liability.

It confirmed a vital legal principle: that polluters can be held liable for climate damages.

In a time of voter suppression, some good news, with caveats.
Lorelei Cloud was born 3 years before Native Americans living on tribal lands in Colorado were guaranteed the right to vote. She is now vice chair of the Southern Ute Tribe. “I don’t want future generations to have to deal with any of what we’ve had to.”
On Native Land, a New Push to Expand Voting Meets the Long Tail of State Violence
Ongoing negotiations between tribal leaders and Colorado officials may chart a new path for automatically registering Native voters and growing voter rolls nationwide. But first the state is having to confront a legacy of mistrust.

Geez. NYT makes everything a damn horse race. Should be embarrassed of themselves.

Clueless, or too indebted to oil money advertorial dollars?
This, on the other hand, is definitely NOT a good headline.

"Maybe" not the planet? MAYBE?

That's climate denial.

These journalists don't deserve to have their work printed underneath such shit.

Well, that sucks. What do you expect when there’s around as many industry reps as country reps, and USA is absent?

The final statement isn’t even going to include mention of getting off fossil fuels. On the bright side, they are trying to plan a path for a just transition.

This story offers good context, noting that this ain't the first time he's condoned violence against political opponents.
