#RankedChoiceVoting
If NYC expanded #RankedChoiceVoting to general elections, mayoral candidates wouldn't need to push each other to drop out.

They could "focus on making a case to voters, & voters could focus on who's fit to serve."

Portland, OR just used proportional #RankedChoiceVoting to elect their city council, as well as single-winner RCV to elect their mayor. It's a great case study!

But there's much more, & groups like @representwomen.bsky.social & @sightline.org have also done strong research!

Money in politics is a problem, but frontal attacks seldom work. We need to find the weak points and change democracy itself, make it harder for money to win elections.

#RankedChoiceVoting is one such solution, by enabling multi-party elections.

"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." –Justice Louis Brandeis

Words spoken many years ago that are just as relevant today.

We must continue the fight to get big money out of politics.

You’re right. Also #RankedChoiceVoting would be essential for our future. It would wipe gerrymandering and possibly give everyone proper representation.

The writing's been on the wall for years that #SCOTUS would finally destroy the #VRA. One area of focus needs to be to get #rankedchoicevoting into more of the states that have a 60/40 split or less (the efficiency frontier of gerrymander cracking and packing). AZ, GA, NC, MI, PA, VA, WI.

We can’t afford the rich. They’ve run out of our money. That’s what’s happening. And both parties with the exception of several incorruptible people are in it. It’s time for #RankedChoiceVoting to sort this out and give us solid representation for once.

When Dems complain that they lost because the left did not vote in the general, we need to be able to come back at them about refusing to support FFV #RankedChoiceVoting.

Let's create the future where hating each other over politics, whatever our ideology or partisanship, is bad politics.
