The hits just keep coming!

As an aside my rage at this worldview makes me not even want to think or speak in English. I know French but since I'm LATAM focused with 1 year of Spanish under my belt I'm like I'm just going to use SPANGLISH and this makes me giggle every time I think of it.

I'm biased because AM published one of mine (thank you again!), but also, really great work being done. Spread the word!
We know everyone is asking for your money this month, but here's a twist: We're NOT asking you to donate in December, we're asking you to spread the word.

Help the trans people and allies who don't know Assigned Media's reputation for excellence and originality in trans news find us!

The only reason not to follow the Prison Rape Elimination Act is if you do not want to eliminate rape
BREAKING: Trump administration plans to end prison rape protections for trans & intersex people, memo says. A DOJ memo says certain standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) do not align with Trump’s Jan. 20 anti-trans executive order, @byadamrhodes.bsky.social reports.

An inependent review of medical evidence on trans youth healthcare found substantial evidence of benefit, and no evidence of harm.

This was one of our top stories this year. Legacy news, who extensively covered a review finding the opposite, ignored this.

Plentiful Data, No Regret: What the Utah Review on Youth Trans Care Found — Assigned
A 1,000-page report by the College of Pharmacy at the University of Utah, which found care safe and effective, stands out from others: It’s both independent and an actual review of the evidence.

I read in @Emily-hart.blsky.social 's substack that the Colombian National Registry will now recognise ‘non-binary’ and ‘trans’ for civil registries and identity cards. I haven't seen the law yet (can I still choose "M?") but it may help me when the US marks me "F" when my passport expires.

Mushrooms are incredible.
Interesting boletus type Asian #fungi looks like the bicolor bolete in New England, with a very unlike effect:

Experts Explore New Mushroom Which Causes Fairytale-Like Hallucinations
Between traditional folklore and modern biology, the wild forest floor and the sterile scientific laboratory, lies the story of the lilliputian mushroom.

As for how to know when it’s time to go, “That is something that each individual has to decide for themselves,” Goulet said. But if you are in the state of mind where you find yourself asking that question, they added, “you probably are already in the space where you should be making preparations.”
For at least a year, I've been returning to the question, how would you know when it's time to leave the US? For this piece, I asked trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer Americans who, with their families and partners, have recently fled the country, about how they made this decision and how they left.
When Is It Time to Flee?
Trans people and their families are facing hard questions and choices as threats to their safety and rights proliferate.

I went for the pro trans and stayed for the delight of watching him.
Don't forget that Zohran Mamdani spent his entire campaign standing proudly beside the trans community. He went to trans rights rallies just to show support. He proudly waved trans rights flags without hesitation. He refused to back down in support of trans rights. That makes me happy.
