Today is World Kindness Day! 🌎 At Merrymac it is our mission to treat even the most vulnerable and abused beings with kindness. Many of them, like Bonnie here, have been deemed “worthless” by the world because they have no monetary value.

I have learned from Sarah Kendzior that I should not say what I would like to happen to the author of this article
It bears remembering that this woman, according to the IPCA report, sent at least 36 emails to media outlets, presumaby including NZME, as well as the PM, Police Minister, and police command in Dec 2023 & Jan 2024, and they did fuck-all about it too

Perspective with Heather du Plessis-Allan: The woman in the Jevon McSkimming saga wasn't innocent here
So it turns out the woman with whom Jevon McSkimming had an affair, whose warnings police ignored and who police charged instead of investigating McSkimmin

Imagine spending years being gaslit so brutally that your only recourse is to accuse them again and again and again, being arrested for accusing them of What They Actually Did, eventually being vindicated, but still charged?

And they wonder why victims don't come to them for help...
It's interesting that NZ Police can be so proactive and decisive about pursuing charges for digital harm and harassment of a senior male police officer, yet find pressing charges when the victim is a woman almost impossible...

This IPCA report on McSkimming and enabler/s needs a major systemic review of police command staff and systems to result. How deep does the rot go?Is just making up breathalysers results by lower level police a downstream reflection of the culture? New Zealand needs answers, not soundbites.

Would any of this have ever come to light if not for Coster stepping down and McSkimming happening to be in the running to replace him?
This is utterly sickening, particularly the charges under HDCA. Many, many things from the 2021-2023 period of my life in terms of police (in)action related to threats made to me now must be viewed thru this unholy prism.

I really can't emphasize enough that OpenAI is, as Dr. Gilliard has described in the past, a social arsonist enabling racism, and I urge colleagues in education using OpenAI's products - including ed-tech platforms that incorporate its products like Khanmigo and MagicSchool - to stop.
Again, this precise use case is why these systems exist-to proliferate people’s racist (transphobic, misogynistic…) imaginary at scale. This should not be seen as a “misuse” but rather the product being used exactly as intended.

I've had a few people message me off platform and ask if I really feel this way about Tesla owners being "part of the problem."

Yes, 100%. We are long past the point where you can plausibly claim Tesla money is fueling right wing hate. You can't claim the cars are safe or that FSD isn't a fraud. 1/
Tesla is a fundamentally irresponsible company that consistently makes decisions which endanger their customers and those in their test facilities.

Wait, I'm being told that's me because their "test facilities" are public roads. If you're supporting this madness, you're part of the problem.
Experts told me Tesla has gotten better at monitoring the behavior of drivers using FSD (S), which can't actually drive by itself

But amidst Tesla's Big Pivot to autonomy and robotics, it seems to be pushing drivers to use the feature exactly when they shouldn't
