Should add it also completely misinterpreted all the variables and also decided to make a whole new worksheet to tell me the only thing that mattered: vote in the election! The idiot’s view of what the ANES is for.
As a dumb test, I asked Microsoft’s “agent” or whatever today to get me the ANES 2024 data knowing it would at least be slightly difficult but it found it. Issue is because it’s an LLM it decided to only grab 10 variables it thought were the most relevant despite me saying to get the whole thing.

Last thing: I know for a fact some students I’ve had used AI (as an assistant) because they told me and they got into law school. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be in admissions at any level or field right now.
It would likely be easier for them to score well in my classes by writing honestly, but I have no idea how to convince them this is the case.
My read on this this quarter is if students are smart enough and spend a lot of time tweaking their writing with AI, they can indeed produce something close to master’s level that’s basically undetectable. It feels like it would take A LOT of work tho so students will focus efforts on tough classes.
