Okay, here we go.

Health & care staff are no longer allowed a Covid booster, but they're still expected to look after COVID+ patients.

NHS/govt is reneging on its duty of care. Staff will become unwell, and patients too will suffer.

You know what to do

Looks like unemployment is drying up AGAIN. I'm not hearing back from employers despite my efforts. I would like to avoid a disaster and just pay them so they don't start eviction while I look for legal help.

I need $2241.22 total (I have some but not all) 🖤🤎💕💸

This is kind of funny because I’m
having Old Home Week with my aunts and Mom who were all in high school around then and one aunt is casually saying “I was the only one in class because everyone else was out doing politics.”

Hey everyone. Hate that I have to post this. My dog was hit by a car tonight and suffered a shattered leg and damage to her intestines. Surgery and medical expenses are roughly $20,000. It’s been a rough year and anything helps.

I am a little tired of being yelled at for this but apparently not tired about: heroin addiction is not RFK’s problem. He’s a sociopath. Most addicts aren’t. Honestly, walk into an NA meeting, grab the first person with a few years to be head of HHS and they’d probably do a better job than Bobby.
This is what happens when you put a privileged, 14 year heroin addict in charge of health. Duh

I saw a response to “please don’t pirate books” that tried to argue in favor of piracy using “petit bourgeoisie” and I feel like the issue here is that person is capable of reading books but doesn’t appear to have been capable of understanding them

This little baby is with @rocketcatrescue.bsky.social and is in the same serious situation as little Zack was. She needs to see an ER vet immediately, and Rocket Cat could use donations to make sure they can cover every avenue of care for her possible. Please consider helping them try to save her.
Got an emergency call from my old boss back at Milo’s Sanctuary about a kitten with dwarfism that was suffering from severe constipation and was declining. I picked her up and I’ll be taking her down to Michele in a few days so for now- trying to make a kitten poop.

I gotta say, all these people enthusiastically going “yeah, I want the fruits of your labor for nothing, write, my minions, write!” is not making me enthusiastic about doing the Firefly project.

Mastercard is bleeding, get in there. Make some calls. Get some cool family members in on it over thanksgiving
The lines are getting clogged from calls and Mastercard is feeling very pressured, they're looking into how to act in response. They're collecting information on callers to have a better understanding of who is calling in re the censorship issue

Two photos taken from Downtown L.A.

They're from the L.A. Herald Examiner in 1951 and 1952. One from the Herald's roof, the other, I don't know, west of Downtown, maybe?

Not particularly remarkable. Kind of boring, really. Unless you know what they are.

They're nukes.

All right, my husband and I are caving to air fryer peer pressure, what are your recommendations for an air fryer brand? Preferably small, we’re running out of permanent counter space between microwave, instant pot, bread maker, coffee machine, rice cooker, stand mixer…

Did the math. If I were paid for each download on that piracy website, I'd have at least 500+ USD more than I do now. I gave up counting after 100 tbh.

What's 500 USD to me? Business insurance, or therapy for my kid, or a gig I didn't have to take so I could write the books y'all steal

Always worth taking a moment to remind you if you’re pirating authors’ book you’re a shitty person. You can rail that our profession isn’t a profession all you want. You can paint yourself as an online revolutionary liberating ideas. It’s all bullshit.

You’re just a shitty person who hates writers.

Incidentally, theft like this is why there won’t be a second Steelflower trilogy, why the Bannon & Clare series was canceled by the publisher, and why I will never do another collected SquirrelTerror book.
I did a thread a few weeks ago of "authors link your stuff" & one of my author friends who is one emergency away from being homeless had a massive spike in downloads on Anna's Archive from people *who follow me* complaining about how they are poor & should be allowed to steal from other poor people
