UK. Transgender. AuDHD. MH. Definitely ANTIFA. May be a bit sweary when angry, stressed, or talking about politics. Doesn't send cash to strangers.

The lesser of two evils is still evil.

I don't want to use 'insane' as an insult but I'm struggling for words to describe Labour at this point.

'Ridiculous' just doesn't cut it.

Also, medics aren't "higher up the food chain" than anyone else - that's an incredibly outdated and antequated attitude, no doubt yours specifically, and it's also an entirely irrelevant and subjective view that certainly would not have been expressed in the tribunal's final judgement.

Hi Francis, as you've turned off replies I'm quoting instead. Please clarify on which page the tribunal mentions Dr Upton having her own changing room. She wouldn't have had access to the consultants' changing rooms, the only other rooms mentioned, as she isn't one.

Decision in the Sandie Peggie case.

She was not directly or indirectly discriminated against, her claim of victimisation fails entirely, her claim of harassment fails largely and her claim against Beth Upton fails entirely. www.judiciary.uk/judgments/sa...

They'll no doubt spin this as a victory in the same way they did with Alison Bailey.

It's not a victory. NHS Fife got some stuff wrong. But they were cleared of victimisation, discrimination and indirect discrimination. Peggie also showed the sort of person she is.

"The EHRC is waiting for ministers to approve its official guidance on how public bodies, businesses and other service providers should respond to the supreme court’s ruling in April that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex."

🙄
@libbybrooks.bsky.social Libby, the rules don't just 'pose a risk' of harm. There's no 'could' about it. They ARE harming people, right now.

Talk to some trans kids in Edinburgh, for instance, who've had their school bathrooms segregated since August. Please.

"Biological people" was always where this eugenicist rhetoric was headed - ie "biological women", "biological pronouns" - because they genuinely don't believe trans people are even human. This dehumanizing language is essential for them to paint trans people as genetically incompatible with society.
Kishwer Falkner in The Times talking about the rights of "biological people". As compared to trans people, who are, of course, non-biological.

Apparently, it's 12.5%. On top of the bill, with their profit margin added, and 20% VAT on top of that.

If you can't afford to kerp your staff without customers voluntarily paying extra, you don't have a viable business.

I think Transactual put it best (in reference to the girl guides) and now Labour too:

"There is no problem being solved here, only harm being done."

All to appease the right, who hate them anyway - shame on them.

But, life being stressful can make you ill. This is well known. You can argue about diagnostic criteria if you must, but you can't over diagnose anything. Either the patient in front of you meets the criteria for a diagnosis or not. There's not a guaranteed 50,000 new cases of depression a year!
