It's very funny because "liberalism" is an ideology that through the vast majority of human history was an unfathomably radical one

even today, given the backsliding of human rights around the world, the idea that liberty and individual rights have merit is surprisingly uncommon

I prefer the current decor to the assault on the senses that is the former one. Cancel me IDC, those coffered ceilings also whip.

The genius of Louise Fletcher's portrayal of Kai Winn is how skillfully she did Erika Kirk face.

Sometimes I wonder if "millennial minimalism" or whatever they're calling is wasn't a direct response to the cluttered 90s homes a lot of us grew up in.

I can make a space with blank white walls look nicer than a tacky wallpaper

I grew up in the 90s and I don't like a lot of the decor from then. The walls were too busy, the light was too dim, and there was too much going on. I don't like the high contrast "modern" finish but it's less exhausting to look at than the film set.

The interiors weren't filmed in that house, they were filmed at New Trier West. The home in Winnetka never looked like the movie inside.
I’m sorry to report, especially during this time of year, that the Home Alone House has become the latest victim of Millennial Gray.

Both are pretty bad.

Also “taste” in architecture/ home decor is bourgeois.

I hate every Republican who made this the centerpiece of their education policy, but I retain a special bile for the Democrats who took donations & salaries to sell this crime against our nation's children

only thing about derry that bothers me is how little the general's plan made sense. that's like...2025 Trump military incompetence, not 1962 military incompetence.
