I remember seeing posts written in Russian ridiculing the Russian government when a protester was arrested and charged with assault for throwing a plastic cup at an officer. That was around six years ago. History does repeat itself, quite often even.

I think it was a moral necessity to wish death to the nazis back in the forties.
The White House posted an insane video of the police arresting the sandwich guy in a safe and wealthy neighborhood.

I treat an area of science as understood when I can notice how and why the key definitions of that field were constructed. This is the reason why math is so much easier to understand for me than physics: physicists often escape such critical analysis by the usage of words like "it's obvious".

Just a reminder that your local library has more than books! Many also have dvds, cds, video games, game systems, internet hot spots, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, park passes, museum passes, and so much more! Maybe it's time for a visit! ❤️📚

Just realized that the Christmas classic "Baby, It's Cold Outside" may be an example of either flirty teasing, or of "consent" under pressure; and something is telling me the author of that song didn't really consider the difference.

Such a cute little guy
You gatta love these little guys.
They come up in most trawls, and I’ve seen them on every expedition I’ve done in NZ.

They’re aquatic isopods. That means they’re crustaceans (like lobsters & crabs) and are in the same group as terrestrial pill bugs/sow bugs/ rollie pollies.

This is about neural networks. The titles sound pretty interesting. It's a shame machine learning research is ethically ambiguous due to the way it's being used.

Lithuanian social democrats just formed a coalition with the Dawn of Nemunas. The latter are nationalist populists who call themselves center left. Their leader is known for saying that Jews oppressed ethnic Lithuanians during WW2, for opposing the Istanbul convention, and working with AfD members.

Also, the purpose of mass deportations is not to ease demand. The purpose of mass deportation is mass deportation. Portraying it as anything but a nazi-like proposal is journalistic malpractice.
the media just unblinkingly accepts a recession-indicuing, ultra-fashy deportation scheme is a housing relief plan now
