You can infect others before you feel symptomatic.

People are losing their healthcare. They’re losing their food assistance. They’re losing housing.

Covid is a labour issue.
#LabourDay #WorkersRights
What seems to have been lost is that labour justice & workers' rights are about safe labour as much as they're about fair financial compensation. In 2020, many workers (including teachers) were pushed into totally unsafe working conditions.

This appears to be the same list that's been used for Paxlovid. Some tips:

--Any mental health condition that you take a medication for counts.
--ME, Long Covid, etc. are not on this list (!) but in a pinch, you can claim "physical inactivity."
--No one checks self-attested smoking history.
FDA is authorizing anybody with a risk factor from this list to receive the vaccines, as well as anybody 65+.

last night, someone on tiktok asked
me how wearing a mask is antifascist, so i answered: unfortunately, even passive, austere eugenics works faster if YOU participate.

so step up: stand out, mask up, and take care take care take care for yourself & others—before those who seek to harm stop you.

My maintenance guy who always wears an n95 at my request & waves away gratitude with “you should feel safe in your own home” brought me a plate from the building bbq so I wouldn’t feel left out.

He said he wore a mask I gave him to the birth of his granddaughter.

Mask up 😷 for yourself and others.
After a slow start, the U.S.’s summer COVID-19 wave is now clearly taking off, with cases increasing nationwide according to all metrics.

a mask is the thing you’re looking for. it is the visible reminder of how things have changed, that you acknowledge we are not coveted “normal” times—but unlike donation-earned tote bags or symbolic beaded bracelets, the mask is community care in both form & immediate function.
Mask up, protect and care for one another. We will not abandon each other.
The bill will strip close to one trillion dollars from federal Medicaid funding across a decade—an attack expected to cause tens of thousands of preventable deaths each year, disproportionately affecting the disabled community.

Every week someone tells me they had to put Covid aside to focus on bigger issues like fascism. The thing is, eugenics and fascism go hand in hand.

Historically pandemics have ignited fascism & normalized eugenics & indifference
Wearing a mask is that good and that simple
if there was something you could do every single day that made the material conditions of everyone around you just a little bit safer— an action that would make trump et al super annoyed— would you do it?

it would be so awesome if yall didn’t only wear masks at explicitly political actions and instead saw your choice to wear a mask in, at the very least, public indoor spaces at the political action it is: one in direct opposition to the eugenic policies we’re being forced to live under.

further, there have been reports if not videos of agents of the state cruelly removing people’s medical masks in public spaces, if not making arrests— this would be a lot harder if they’d been surrounded by a sea of masked faces, so normalize using these lifesaving tools in your daily life. mask up.
normalize respirators in your daily life. when you do, when you see the choice to use a personal air filter as more akin to sunglasses (worn by all, often for fashion regardless of ocular welfare) than, say, a cast (indicative of active health concerns, often not a choice), all around you benefit.

if you care to think of yourself as an ally to marginalized people, as a comrade of mine, but you are not wearing a respirator at a protest? you’re not wearing one on transit you took to and from? why?

who are your actions in alignment with?
