'GDP reduced by 8%' - Nine-year study reveals how Brexit decimated UK economy
Can't help but feel those responsible for Brexit should not, for example, be riding high in the polls with a new party...

On average, every 4 years, the ECHR stops the UK removing 1 foreign person.

They want you to demand we leave the ECHR because of this.

I've being saying "told you so" about Brexit for a decade. Don't let them do it to you again. Please listen this time.....

👏👏 perfectly summarised. Seems you can fool some people all of the time after all
The people (Tories and Reform) who tell you your rights are safe if we leave the ECHR as they’ll replace them with British laws also told you our trade, borders and NHS was safe if we left the EU because they’d negotiate amazing trade deals, take control of our borders and fix the NHS…..

The greatest trick autocrats ever played was convincing the poor that human rights only benefit foreigners.
Well it has happened.
The leadership of the Conservative&Unionist Party is advocating leaving the ECHR. Not reforming it, or working with other members to alter any rules.
Leave it. Like Putin’s Russia.
I can’t help wondering what those Tories who are rightly proud of 🇬🇧’s support for 🇺🇦 are thinking.

Add this to the list of things Farage is spectacularly wrong about and despair that so many people think he’s the saviour of the UK! He would wreck it as fast as Trump is wrecking the US
Javier Milei had to beg a bail-out and already needs another. Argentina's economy is in a tailspin. Gov't bonds and peso in freefall. People starving, throwing rocks at him.

Farage last year: "He's amazing. It's Thatcherism on steroids. Cutting and slashing expenditure. That's leadership."

Nathan Gill is no fringe politician.

He was the leader of the Reform Party and before that UKIP in Wales.

A Brexit Party MEP.

A friend and ally of Nigel Farage, who in 2016 called him:

"terrific," and "as honest as the day is long."

This is a MASSIVE story

“The ECHR isn’t Brussels meddling. It’s the foundation that protects you from your own government.” 👏👏👏
Leaving the ECHR won’t “Take Back Control” – it will hand your rights to politicians
The myths are seductive, the reality is very different – without the ECHR your freedoms rest on whichever Home Secretary wakes up grumpy

Well said, the pathetic so called journalism of the likes of Kuenssberg which is all gossip and tittle tattle
Thing is, while Ed Davey has unusual ways of creating publicity, the Lib Dem’s policies typically have substance and are workable. Meanwhile, Reform is often treated as credible despite its policy agenda being two elephants short of a circus.

Ed Davey loves clowning around, but is it time the Lib Dems get serious?
As they gather in Bournemouth for their annual conference, Laura Kuenssberg considers what next for the Lib Dems.

If ever there was a reason for adopting proportional representation NOW it’s this: the BBC platforming Nigel Farage once again, just hours after his credibility was destroyed live on TV by a US congressman. FPTP is a winner take all system. Farage is a “Trump wannabe.”
Why the hell is BBC Radio 4 playing a clip of Nigel Farage slamming Angela Rayner for not paying enough tax?? What??

I am equally astounded and mortified that rather than push back on the malign forces taking us to these dark places - an elected Labour government appears more interested in trying to learn from them

Well said Dorian, it’s difficult to work out how to change all this when I would say the majority of people on the progressive side of the debate will not march on the HQ’s of the media buildings enraged and behaving violently (which seems to be what they deem to be effective and real protesting)
I don’t want to be too shrill about this but I think the BBC, ITV and Sky have disgraced themselves in their coverage of the anti-refugee protests. A massive failure of judgement. But now we know the next time a progressive protest “isn’t news” that it’s nothing to do with numbers
