As I finish writing “You Can’t Discover What Was Always There” I’ve found a decent amount of work has somewhat of a political/societal bent. I am going to collect those poems together in a smaller book called “Stand”, which will see 50% of all proceeds go to the ACLU.

Neguse: "What Trump is attempting to do is create a perception that he has all the power & create a sense of hopelessness or helplessness in the public. We've gotta resist the temptation. He's electorally unpopular. In fact, the most unpopular POTUS at this juncture than any modern POTUS in history"

Unreal stuff from the guy who is unflinchingly loyal to the Insurrectionist-in-Chief - you know, the President who pardoned the January 6 insurrectionists and wants to mandate “Ashli Babbitt: Blood Martyr” as a new national mythos.

I know we're not surprised - but let us not forget to be shocked.

Mike Johnson: "They berated a Capitol police officer, screamed at him. He was merely standing his post. It shows, again, their disdain for law enforcement, the Democrats, screaming, assaulting officers."

Man, it’s been sad to come back from Riyadh and two weeks of amazing comedy and community building to a country in shambles.

Tbf mass lead poisoning of young men might explain *quite a lot* of what’s been happening in recent years.

my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

It’s funny how the old media depiction of Nazis was always that they’re evil but dignified gentleman and now they’re openly just like “Hello. I’m the Anime Pedophile”

@atbashhang Bro I used to work at Auntie Anne's and the amount of people I had to turn away because the Al chatbot did the same thing and gave them an interview time when we weren't supposed to take any made me feel bad every time

Someday soon, all of the world’s energy will be plugged into some behemoth AI data center, and people will be like “god is nigh, we have sacrificed everything.” Then when they turn it on it’ll be 9% better at programming or whatever.

Kiss my ass! Substance free? I have arguably the most detailed analysis of the AI bubble out there. Maybe you just don’t like to live in reality?

are there AI critics or sceptics out there worth reading? (Not Ed Zitron types who just do a whole THIS IS VERY BAD shouty, largely substance-free schtick)

It's pub day for my book, "Gilded Rage: Elon Musk and the Radicalization of Silicon Valley," which chronicles the rise of the tech right and their role in the 2024 election. Thanks to everyone who helped along the way.

Please be conscious if you protest this weekend that there are feds at the protest. They look like you and they sound like you, not like Steve Buscemi in that one clip with the skateboard. Thinking you can spot them is self delusion. Nobody you haven’t met needs to know your last name.

They played up Tingler like they were married and he was a physical extension of AJ into the dugout, and then played up Shildt like Bob was undermining AJ and Shildt was going to balance Bob’s experience with Tingler’s AJness. All ended the same. Sad!

Extending your GM who just made three completely different managers end a season by questioning life itself and the role of man in it is abject insanity
