The other thing that people really do not get is how much our cops like to kill us. I remember watching Winter on Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom, and thinking it was wild how long it took the govt to start shooting. That should not have been my take away.

I find it strange how rarely people in the U.S. and outside of it truly contend with how VAST the country is geographically.

Folks LOVE to mention France but Paris has a population of 2 million people and is 40 square miles.

NYC has a population of 8.5 million and is over 460 square miles

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

The entire state apparatus being weaponized in every way imaginable against the law abiding people and journalists, many of whom are private citizens whose taxes it requires to function is probably one of the devastating things that can happen in the age of disinformation in a country built on lies.

The DHS Twitter has been tagging and calling out a local journalist writing on immigration in Chicago. Local journalists covering what’s happening need continual support especially as they write these important stories.

Unpopular opinion but I think that it’s not enough for men to decenter other men, they should make it their business to shame other men & force them to change. But I also think they like seeing other men struggle & just brushing it off as a “skills issue”.
