1 year exactly since the release of my debut book w/ @versobooks.bsky.social.
In February '24 I wrote down in my journal my goals for the release - audiences reached, countries travelled, connections made etc. This 1st year wildly exceeded all my expectations, I am so so grateful.

I do think it's ironic / funny / strange that "collective responsibility" for some reason applies to all others except Americans. Everyone else ought to leave their countries / relinquish citizenship / not pay taxes etc etc, to be seen as not tainted by their governments' actions. Not USAns though.

If Lars Løkke was a Ukrainian Foreign Minister circa 2012 and him and a Donetsk / Lugansk / Crimea leader went to try persuade Putin not to touch said regions in the context of the current mood and comments, they'd be wise to start preparing for an actual war. This is all unbelievably devastating.

I say this with utmost respect, but Taylor is an absolute tool for saying this privately or publicly.
I can say on good authority that it takes 7 to 10 years to develop game development skills to “good enough” to produce commercial game content. 7-10 years plus the cost of a university education.

There are few things more brutal in the world than the current Iranian regime. I genuinely cannot comprehend how you can refuse to support the people protesting it and call yourself a left-wing person. People like Hasan Piker disgust me and tarnish all of us.

I have never had a Spotify account and always just played music on Winamp. A loved one's moving away from Spotify to also just owning mp3s and showed me this website. I can't get over how it's exactly the kind of internet I miss and what I wouldn't do to bring it back.

Watched some naff Christmas Carol theatre production, and thinking that it does indeed teach kids a lie and is in need of a modern reinterpretation.. Individual vs system critique aside the truth is you WILL get the glory and social life etc if you mistreat people and are greedy in today's world. :(
