Noorbo Handelen -

I think last year's winner?
I didn't think I'll ever say that a Gløgg is too strong, but here it is! Well spiced, great temperature, but the alcohol takes over slightly too much! I have to brace myself if I'll survive the festival lol. 78 DKK seems decent in this economy?

Ofc I make my own too occasionally, it's very good if I can say so myself. Makes the apartment smell so so good.

Café Oven Vande in Christianshavn -

Lush portion and tasty, thick, great biscuits. The winner for me here is the rosemary - a genuine innovation that infuses the taste in a very subtle, but effective way. At 95 DKK though I still can't in good conscience give it higher than

Jernbanecafeen in Vesterbro-

The sticker with a recipe - a lovely plus. Nice gingery biscuits, but very much from a packet. The rum aftertaste very cosy, good temperature and strength, mid portion size. 92 DKK though wtf.

Reffen.

Nice dish and the smell is enticing. Sadly that's where the good stuff ends. Served coldish, no biscuits, almost bitter (?!), very weak. Almonds and raisins straight out of a packet, no rum infusion. Absolutely not worth the 75 DKK.

First stop - my beloved Beboerhuset social centre.
Smallish portion, simple receptacle, good strength, temperature. Okay biscuits. 60 DKK is a good price though.

A few washes down the line and I've kind of grown into it the bangs for now, I think. + it looks cute with my Bernie 2020 hat which got me a few smiles in the autumnal relieved Copenhagen today.

It looks better in pictures than IRL I think. 🙈
It's been QUITE the year, I haven't had any holiday, so needed a reset of some form. Bangs it was! 💇‍♀️
Be kind lol, we are just gonna have to learn to live with them for now. 🤎

I also had to go to Kaunas, Lithuania for some emergency family things last week, and although it was an involuntary visit my god Kaunas was smiling at me with the most preposterously gorgeous colours. 🤎 I was walking around gobsmacked.

My loved ones'll know - though I had an extraordinary year, it's also been an excessively exhausting one. No holiday, pretty much no weekends etc.
But today I had a day off & it was a magical one. Me & my mum went mushroom picking, just like we used to since I was the tiniest toddler. Heavenly. 🤎

Our queen has met with the other European leftist heartthrob Spanish PM Pedro Sanchez. 🥰 So great to see.

diagnosing the desperate need for the left to rethink the aesthetics of where comrades can be found. Turns out - videogames are very much that space, too. I'm supremely thankful for the incredible reception by comrades in Buenos Aires and Santiago - it's giving me much-needed optimism. 🩷 5/7

The only hope is to bring our voices together.

Enormous thanks to the wonderful Ediciones Godot - the publisher of the Spanish translation of my book. Their catalogue so superb, staff so fabulous. And of course all the kudos to @versobooks.bsky.social for releasing my book, 4/7

I'm humbled, I learned so much, I had so many questions, I was faced with so much beauty and courage, so many heart-breaking stories of the oligarchs making lives miserable, so much otherworldly gorgeous nature, so much greedy destruction of it. As everywhere - an international truth. 3/7

I never imagined my first book would take me on such journeys, but it’s clear there’s a deep hunger for change: not just for bigger profits in our surreal, incredible, grotesque industry, but for a complete rethinking of how it operates. 2/7

My 2 week adventure in Argentina and Chile has come to an end. 13 press interviews, 3 stage appearances, 4 photoshoots, countless incredible people met. Trade unionists, writers, artists, rad game makers, civil servants - all attempting to make their corner of the world a more egalitarian place. 1/7
