LMAO I don't have to suspect: I produced an interview with Ai Weiwei, and when I introduced myself, he became the Quintessential Chinese Dad/Uncle and *scolded me* about my bad Mandarin. It burst out of him like he couldn't help himself.
I asked this before over at The Old Place and the answers delighted me. So again:

Who is an artist you admire who you suspect would not like you if they met you personally?

I think Peter Dinklage is fantastic. I would absolutely get on his last nerve. He'd be looking for the door while we spoke.

In my brief time as an op-ed editor (<year), Brettbug Stephens argued Ashkenazis might be genetically superior, & Tom Cotton called for violence against George Floyd protestors. Some of us were constantly pushing back. I met with Sulzberger multiple times. Lip service was given, nothing changed.
A lot of nyt folks, me among them, believed we could change the culture and the coverage from the inside. That by working within channels, we could convince the leadership of its obligation to cover trans ppl fairly.

In hindsight I’ve come to think I was naive.

Look, so much of kpop fandom begins with "well, what's THIS ONE'S name?" so by the time you've learned all 8 or 13 or 25 members, you're irrevocably invested.
Dont understand why these K pop bands are the size of a football team listen kids back in my day our boy bands had 5 members tops and we were GRATEFUL by God

Maybe we don't need to concern ourselves about how other people run their own social media interactions? Like, if people want to block, good for them! If other people prefer to mute, fine! What's it to you?

CDMX during Dia de Los Muertos is *magical*. The Catrinas, the ofrendas, the color and energy. Listen to Saeed, go go go!

Pro tip: eat as much pan de muerto as you can — it’s one of my all time favorite pan dulces
I’ll explain more later, but listen to me: if you can be in Mexico City for Halloween and then the Day of the Dead, baby… DO IT. DO ITTTTTT.

As a matter of pure linguistics, it would be surprising if people didn't have trouble with the name Tchaikovsky, Dostoyevsky, Chopin, Beethoven. Schwarzenegger. Chalamet.
In Opinion

Early in Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign, “it was easy to assume that failure to learn his name reflected a failure to take him seriously,” John McWhorter writes. But “as a matter of pure linguistics, it would be surprising if people didn’t have trouble with the name Mamdani.”
Opinion | I Now Mispronounce You the Likely Next Mayor of New York City
A lot of people seem to trip over Zohran Mamdani’s name. The reason may not be as simple as it seems.

I would love to have the theatrical cuts without needing to visit home and pull out my dad's beloved LaserDisc
if disney does a theatrical release of the original star wars films for the 50th anniversary and offers them on physical media i will forgive them for every terrible decision they've made with star wars
just discovered that there was a leak from someone involved in the restoration team revealing that Disney is, indeed, restoring the theatrical cuts of the original Star Wars trilogy! complete with screenshots!
