Beyond the funding issue, there are structural issues around transit as an integrated network that make it a bad idea to make one mode free and other modes not. Even if we could come up with a revenue source that could not politically be raised through any other means, it would still be a bad idea.

Through all the political spectrum the lack of any rational solution of the housing Situation in Germany is exasperating. But it’s also similar in Switzerland. We call it „Fünfer und das wegli“ give me the money and the bread. We want more housing but we don’t want anyone to built more housing

Independent, pro-worker, class warrior candidates can absolutely beat Republicans in red states if they are not tainted by the Democratic Party brand. The labor movement can make this happen systematically.

The Falklands discourse is reminding me of passing by the Ostpreußenstraße and the Sudetenstraße on the way from the station to the school in Tiengen, in the far south of Germany, when I was an exchange student in 2010.
