I can use my visa debit card anywhere in the EU (except a Dutch grocery store @croweleycf.bsky.social is Albert Hejn ever gonna accept foreign cards?) it’s really a marvel of technology and international cooperation

To put it into comparison is about 0.25€ per transaction that goes into accepting cash. For smaller transactions it’s a lot more than credit card fees

I think it’s probably fair to mandate some essential things (grocery stores etc) accept cash, but for smaller restaurants snd other businesses cash id just more hassle than it’s worth.

And the best way to stop armed robberies is to simply not have cash. And since more than 95% of people have access to banking anyways. It is a no Brainer why many businesses don’t want to deal with cash at all
