Can’t describe how excited I was to hear Asobi Seksu on John’s Dollar Bin on XPN. I hope a lot of other Philadelphians out there love that band as much as Dan Reed seems to have enjoyed them

I’m not totally shocked that Lazy Sunday is now 20, but I’m genuinely surprised that Christmastime for the Jews isn’t older. Both excellent, it really was An Golden Era.
Lazy Sunday left such a gargantuan footprint, few remember that the same episode featured this absolute banger from Robert Smigel and friends:

I get that there are specific specialized measurement techniques, but my brain’s first move is picturing someone trained to go “yep, that’s snow right there”

I increasingly think that in folks' attention to Orwell, Atwood, and so on, they did not properly anticipate how Vonnegut-esque the dystopia would be.
At some point it is pretty freeing to accept the fact that complete buffoons have taken over most of the things you thought were important institutions
