I’ve decided, 9 years after I became disabled, to finally apply for PIP. I’m doing it out of principle now and so that I have firsthand experience of the process. I know people with the same condition as me where the process has taken 3 years to get an award. Here goes…

After a long pause, I've just done another England Covid & NHS update as we head into the autumn/winter season.

TLDR: we're in a significant Covid wave now, the NHS is stretched, get boosted if you're eligible.

I have a booster plus flu jab every year so it seems a bit crazy that I don’t get one this year.

We really need a “Post Office Scandal” moment.

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.
There's a huge BUT coming ...🧵

Scientists develop first ‘accurate blood test’ to detect chronic fatigue syndrome
Research could offer hope for ME patients – but some experts urge caution and say more studies needed

He’s also a fan of Ian Banks. It’s like they identify with the bad guys in the books, not the good ones. There’s probably a psychological term for it.

In fact, it seems vehicle lists are freely accessible on the net! My local force seems to favour Ford - lots of Fiestas and Focuses! They’re building up an electric fleet as well. 49 so far (not sure how many are motorbikes). I’m guessing the Met (London) has a high number of SUVs though.

I thought the big thick line denoted a bus stop bay? The police vehicle fleet across the UK includes a variety of sizes. Estate cars are often spotted on motorways.

IMPORTANT: Healthy indoor air has become a human right.

Yesterday, history happened at the UN: For the first time hundreds of orgs signed a global pledge declaring that healthy indoor air is a human right.

Healthy indoor air is a key tool for preventing pandemics, building climate resilience, and increasing health equity. We need it everywhere!

The truth: we need migration.

The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it.

Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality.

Reject it. Draw the line.

The reporters who investigated Rayner should publish a list of all the MPs they have checked for correct stamp duty payments - which should be ALL MPs, not just the ones they don’t like.

I’ll be tuning in every week…to this thread. More entertaining and informative than the actual programme, by all accounts.

#KingAndConqueror. Not a promising start when the moustache is on the wrong man. Now that's a very easy thing to get right.

'Feudal France?' oh dear.

We are undefined years earlier now.

Don’t forget the obligatory light behind the fan!

As it’s usually an axial fan, I’m guessing the ducts are way oversized, contain no turning vanes, filters, balancing dampers etc. to minimise pressure drop, otherwise that fan isn’t going to move much air!

Now I’m doubting whether I deserve PIP anyway. Yes, I can do all the things on the list, but not all on the same day. Yes I can visit my MIL but I’ve spent the day in bed recovering from the drive yesterday and we leave again tomorrow. Monday may also be spent in bed recovering. #TakingThePIP

People fall over themselves to help with cancer, both support and treatment. You also get believed. Many cancers are survivable now.

The assessor wrote that I completed my form on my own. I did, but it took me 3 months to do as I could only fill it in for 30 minutes at a time when I had the energy. I explained that but it wasn’t in the decision.

Just received my PIP score: 0. Includes the Kafka-esque reason that I am not being treated for something for which there is no treatment!
lzmddings.bsky.social
One of the reasons given is that ai am not being treated for my illness. THERE IS NO TREATMENT AVAILABLE! This really is #TakingThePIP !
