My not-evidence-backed theory: we spent the better part of a year where the most conscientious people stayed home while others went out. Conscientious people are like nuclear control rods preventing bad social reactions in group settings. By the time they reentered, it was too late: new normal.

I think used EVs are generally underpriced too--they're still priced based off of the old, ICE math in terms of dollars-per-miles-on-the-odometer. EVs seem to age better.

On audiophile forums you can read 1000 words to the effect of "this integrated amplifier is musical but not overly so, with a narrow soundstage and if anything an excess of clarity," and then at the very end they'll reveal they were listening to "'Human Clay' by 'Creed.'"
