I really think these people need to come to grips with the fact that people who did not learn to love bitcoin, NFTs and the metaverse are NOT going to 'learn to love' AI.
A couple years ago in my household we stopped buying anything from Amazon if we could find it first in a local store, or on a Canadian online store. We now only use Amazon a few times a year.
Fuck Amazon.

Basically, Amazon stole hundreds, maybe thousands, of dollars from us with a bait and switch promotion, and has a shifting list of explanations that the program didn't exist, or if it did we didn't qualify for it, or if we did qualify for it we didn't exactly follow the rules about precise timing.

Part of the way social media makes people crazy is notifying them of every single damn thing. Turn it all off. Look at the site when you want to. Never, ever allow it to make your phone make noise. Nothing that important is going to happen here.
I turn of all notifications for literally every damn app. My phone only rings out loud if it's someone who's in my phone book and it only beeps at me if I set an alarm or a loved one is texting.
This is a good thread to read. I will only add that I do not get ANY social-media notifications or news alerts on my phone and it is a foundational building block of my sanity that no nonhuman entity, not even Bluesky, gets to initiate conversations with me.
