According to Tubi's head of acquisitions, "LOONEY TUNES" has become one of their "top-ten best-performing series," and is popular with viewers across generations.

He says they are in "active negotiations" to ensure that Tubi can be the home of Looney Tunes for "quite a while — likely years."

Hey, er, you don't know me and this is probably shouting into the void, but

as someone else who generally prefers to focus on the good and the optimism and whatall, this is a *relentlessly* tone-deaf take

the world is bad right now! it really is! and sometimes it helps to talk about that!

Listen, doomer ...

Just fuck off.

Fuck off. We get it. You've given up.

Can you go give up somewhere else? Find a corner to cry it that's not here.

We're sorry you can't be happy unless you're joined in your misery. Have you thought about paying someone to do that instead of inflicting it on us?

The simple truth is people love this stuff and will watch it if you let them, not by putting it behind a premium fee. I fell in love with these cartoons as a kid because they used to be on TV all the time so I could, ya know, watch them lmao.
After leaving HBO Max earlier this year, ‘Looney Tunes’ is a hit on Tubi, the company says, and popular across generations. It should be a model for every classic cartoons trapped in streaming limbo.

Me being a Reylo for years and then finding out that Adam Driver and Steven Soderbergh pitched a movie to Lucasfilm and Disney where Ben Solo returned but it never happened because Bob Iger couldn’t wrap his mind around Ben being resurrected when he literally revived Palpatine with no explanation??

Being a stoner film lover is cool because you can watch entire movies, forget you ever saw them, and rewatch them again like they’re new!

The Farce Will Be With Him... Always.
Trump: "We have Darth Vader. You know Darth Vader, right? Darth Vader is a man who is sitting -- is that Darth? Stand up please. Does everybody know -- they call him Darth Vader, I call him a fine man. But he's cutting Democrat priorities and they're never gonna get them back."

There is a saying that any creative project ever will live or die in its first fifteen minutes of existence. The rest is just busy work. Those fifteen minutes are the most important thing AI takes from you.
Every artist I’ve ever known has this itch to create that won’t go away until they create. They have to do it.

It’s why I know the “finally, someone like me can make art” AI users are full of shit. What they really mean is “finally, a way to get social media likes without hard work”.
Science fiction in general has always been morally grey.

Star Wars is definitely more of a space fantasy. The Saga is a morality play.

You could argue Andor is closer to sci fi as it has good characters doing morally questionable things.

Acolyte was definitely morally grey.

Nazis are not an abstract concept. They're not a myth, they're not from an alternative timeline. Acting like it's not really a big deal for someone to show ANY level of support about ANYTHING they did is unacceptable.

They tried to MURDER MY GRANDPARENTS and they DID murder MILLIONS of my people.

If some group had tried to murder YOUR grandparents, would you be cool with someone having a tattoo of their logo? Would you accept that it was a "youthful mistake" or that they just didn't understand it? Would you let it slide bc you don't want to "alienate" people who don't think it's a big deal?

The Nazis murdered dozens of MY ancestors. Whole branches of the family wiped out forever. Cousins and aunts and uncles of MINE.

They murdered over 90% of all the Jews in Poland in 6 years. They wanted it to be 100%. They tried to MURDER MY GRANDPARENTS.

Do you understand? They marched into the town where MY GRANDPARENTS lived and started rounding up all the Jews who lived there, to MURDER them.

This wasn't ancient history, it wasn't even 100 years ago. They came after MY GRANDPARENTS.

There's a lot of abstract talk about nazis right now and I just want to bring it back to concrete reality for a second:

Those motherfuckers tried to murder MY GRANDPARENTS.
It’s ironic. Because Star Wars is all about letting go. The Dark Side is being possessive, holding grudges, and desire for dominance. The way of the Jedi is about letting go, accepting that there are things beyond your control, and moving on.
I’m scared I’m growing up to be a bitter asshole.

The last 10 years, from Trump’s dictatorship to living through COVID to my Mom’s passing, all of it, broke me.

I’m completely broken. And I’m afraid I’ll never be put back together. 💔
I have a lot of emotional wounds from childhood that never really healed.

And lately it’s been effecting my behavior. 😞
TLJ was the most daring, most challenging Star Wars movie since The Empire Strikes Back. It took chances, had incredible acting, was absolutely beautiful to look at, and gave the franchise a chance to grow.

Then fanboys threw a tantrum and scared Disney from ever doing anything like it again.
The other day, people like me were posting about how Star Wars used to be a cultural event that made the entire world stop what it was doing to pay attention to the next chapter, but nowadays it’s just content.

I think the backlash to The Last Jedi is a big reason why.
For years I’ve had this idea for a screenplay where the Devil himself runs for President and tricks Christians into supporting him.

The problem is every single person I pitch this idea to all ask me the same thing: “Is this a documentary?”
