A quiet day pottering at the allotment - chided by noisy chalkpit Blackcaps. That'll do.

But have another view from y/day, from the train: East Court/ Shorne marshes, e. of Gravesend. Bushes red with berries. Stripped by now in recent autumns, by passing migrant winter thrushes. Not this year.

Perhaps the smartest #ClimateAction investment in cities is in public transit. While others make excuses, Paris is building a WHOLE NEW METRO NETWORK CONNECTING SUBURBS.

Broke journey home w. a quick stop in Rochester, taking just minutes to find the Common creek wintering Common Sandpiper.
Too easy. In his usual spot, w. his usual chums.
Nice to see his creek up on the big screen right outside the railway station. (I added the arrow, he's not that popular yet.)

I caught the train and bus to Broad Oak, Carmarthenshire from Haverfordwest, and then cycled to Cilsan Bridge to see Whooper Swans wintering there. It was lovely to ride a section of newly constructed cycle path through the Tywi Valley from Carmarthen to Llandeilo 😊 🚴

This is fucking horrific. Trial by jury is a fundamental part of our justice system.
Wonderful. Now Labour plan to "destroy justice as we know it".

Anything else they're going to wreck on their way out of office?

Remember: it is ALWAYS much easier to break things than to restore them. So their reckless legacy will linger long after they're gone.

Given that the BBC endlessly gives platforms to lobbyists from the dark money junktanks without revealing their interests, shouldn't we be seeing such apologies every day?

Better still, how about not doing it? If they want to appear, we should know on whose behalf they are speaking.

Puffins in the news today, but no mention of the 90% decline in numbers the BTO predict by 2050, caused by rising sea surface temperatures affecting prey and therefore chick survival… 🤷‍♂️🙄

Don’t look up!

This is how the news should be reported 👏
Discussing a subject close to my heart first on the Sky News newspaper review this morning: Heathrow expansion.

It's simple: there is no way we can have a safe, liveable climate and expand London's airport capacity.

A rail fare freeze until 2027 is a win for travellers and the climate. We know skipping flights isn’t always easy, but cheaper rail makes low-carbon travel way more accessible. Slower journeys = less stress, smaller footprints.

Yesterday the prime time TV show #eventothier replaced the plaques at the entrance of the cemetery, and the name of a black soldier in hay bales in the neighbouring field.Unfortunately already removed, but great publicity, increasing the likelihood of a permanent memorial.

Something of a different night out for me; on last 'Ghost tour' of autumn 2025 #HistoricDockyardChatham

Great fun😊 Wasn't really there for ghosts, but for historic tales of mayhem and murder and for visits to old buildings not usually open to public.

And for Redshank calling from the river 😉

No private cars during this video in the center of Paris ! This is not because of some enforcement, it just turns out the users of the road in this video are many cyclists, a bus, a few taxis and one moped ;)
