Today's #Quaxing.

Unhitch trailer.

Wheel bike through unpaved gap between access barrier and fence.

Wheel trailer through the Crysal Maze Industrial zone challenge.

Reattach.

Collect two Time Crystals.
A shared cycle and pedestrian track with a white line separating the two sides. On the left is a metal fence, the right is lined with a wire mesh fence behind which is extensive vegetation. Leaf mulch and vegetation encroach on the path wodth from both sides. A cycle and trailer load of shopping are parked on the cycle side. Behind them is a blue tangle of metal resemblin a child's climbing frame and activity gym. There is a narrow gap between this and the fence.

Yet another #20splenty benefit.

A council report said the drop in nitrogen dioxide was caused by numerous factors including more people working remotely since Covid, and the introduction of a 20mph speed limit.

Whatever come as standard in the official @bromptonbicycle.bsky.social toolkit.

In fairness, I got the Brommie and its toolkit pre-loved. I have no idea how many years the adhesives may have been degrading.

Fortunately I had picked up some spare tubes when passing the local Halfords.

Wheel out, new tube fitted, wheel back in (a little easier now I've had some practice), back on the road, fiddle with gears, all good.

Notes to self: Glueless patches don't work. Taking the wheel out is the best option.

Hub gears needed a little further fiddling.

Glueless patch failed.

Attempt two, remove the wheel. First time I have ever done that.

Whilst I knew the tension arm had to come off too, I wasn't prepared for the seemingly explosive release of tension.

Correct hole patched.

I was methodical enough taking things apart to put them back together correctly.

Attempt one. Leave wheel in situ, find hole and patch.

This was fiddly, I think the primary issue was that I misidentified a scratch on the tube as the hole and patched the wrong place.

Many footpaths could be doubled in width if authorities did some basic maintenance and vegetation management.

Letting verges grow out of control is not "rewilding". It's cost cutting that leads to invasive species by the roadside - see all the Giant Hogweed we have on motorways now.

Good to see the vegetation on the Dereham Road cycle track finally cut back. They've done a good job in clearing the vegetation well back from the path edge - by at least a metre - and have then cleared away the overgrown grass back to the original edge of the path.

Third attempt at fixing this [insert multiple expletives here] puncture.

"Car hits an elephant" does seem a step forward from "an elephant was in collision with a car", it's still in #AbsentDriver territory.

Moulton cycles are a pathway to many abilities that the UCI consider unsporting.

Jim Glover set the current world unpaced cycling record over 200m (conventional riding position) in 1986, on a fully faired Moulton.

His record, 51.29mph, still stands.
