"What sits underneath this change is the same damaging assumption that drove Robodebt: that people on Centrelink are not to be trusted.

The mere fact of needing income support becomes grounds for suspicion. Poverty itself becomes a kind of evidence."

I don't know how many more women need to die before the cruelty of these strict abortion laws finally dawn on us a society. This story is heartbreaking. Nothing about this is pro-life. It is anti woman and anti-life.

“Not currently?”

“My income was under the amount required”

“We issue it based on the income guesstimate, not at EOFY reconciliation and payment of FTB”

So I got paid the correct amount rather than doing a guesstimate, so didn’t get a HCC

🧵So last week I asked Kiwis and Aussies if people prefer their fairy bread with margarine or butter, crusts on or crusts off, squares vs triangles. I figured since it has been ages since I've sampled the food of the fae, I should make sure the recipe is correct for my upcoming book launch party.

Hundreds of trials of exercise and rehabilitation have been performed to treat post-infectious chronic illness. Literally hundreds.

Dozens more are ongoing and planned, most for LC.

Even though literally not a single thing has been learned out of it. Not one damn thing.

This industry is a fraud.

Stumbled across an AI slop post on Facebook about a girl called Josephine found abandoned on a train in Laramie WY in 1892 who grew up to be the town doctor. Some of it was plausible but when they said they kept the train car she was found in I knew it was bull! Accompanying photo is clearly AI too

Australia’s current child support debt is the highest it has been in a decade. As of December 2024, $1.9 billion was owed, with 153,694 non-payers. While interest on unpaid amounts is payable to the government, it’s not passed on to the parents who are owed
It is a criminal offence not to file tax returns on time, but the penalty is paltry. Meanwhile, thousands of Australian fathers are able to avoid child support payments by not filing returns, working cash in hand, hiding money in trusts or moving overseas. satpa.pe/qGOX9ZU
One simple way to lift children out of poverty
More than 40 per cent of children in single-parent households live in poverty in Australia. Enforcing child support payments would go a long way towards fixing the problem.
