The Massachusetts legislature solves this problem by not passing any laws.
It is absolutely stunning to me how little most legislators actually know about the laws that they're passing. The process for hearing legislation, getting educated about an issue, and allowing robust public feedback is much too fast for the amount they want to get done each term.

The fact the Summer St bike lane is considered a national best is so sad. Like, it's a lot better than what was there before, but it's only one direction on a two-way street, and it's not protected for large stretches with just a tiny one inch curb perfectly designed for a delivery truck to park on.

The fact the Summer St bike lane is considered a national best is so sad. In Cambridge, you can have a mental breakdown, the police will show up, shoot you based on a made-up policy that is not CPD policy ("20 foot rule"), the Commissioner will explain that no policies were violated, and City Councilors will make speeches about how wonderful the police is.

It is not an "Ice-related shooting". ICE agents shot and murdered a 37-year-old unarmed woman trying to leave the scene of federal agents with guns and aggression. That's murder.
