Let me add:city manager has kept us up to date that the report was coming. Council was fully aware that was incoming. To attack the WRRB is ridiculous. The city council will ultimately make a decision & none of us know what the manager’s recommendation will be.

Tired of crying maga babies.

This is a great report by a non-partisan, neutral, research organization. I look forward to debate the formation of a CRB on the floor. This is the report that the City Manager himself requested.

Anyways, let’s definitely talk about it when the Manager brings his rec forward.

WRRB releases: Overdue for Civilian Oversight: A Pathway for Lasting Police Reform.

Civilian oversight has been debated in Worcester for 50+ years. Worcester stands as one of few major cities without a civilian review board.

Good for Hank for pushing back against ridiculous assertions that Mr. Matthews is biased. I know fact-based research is triggering, I know. I know. Hush little baby hush.

Oh I like this! Will be supporting this effort ❤️

I can vouch for this! Several sitting city councilors and candidates for office have not shown up to several forums.

Unlike @etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social several district councilors have NOT shown up. Thank you Etel

This proposal will also go to the Conservation Commission as Kettle Brook runs through it. I look forward to sharing that meeting date/time so interested folks can attend and ask questions.

My pleasure. Whether it’s a fire devastating small businesses on Pleasant Street or a gas station proposal threatening to displace beloved businesses on Hope Avenue, I’ll show up.

“You have restored my faith in politicians. You went above and beyond for us and I will never forget that”, he said to me.
etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social
I agree. I stopped by Giovanni’s recently to check on him. The business is thriving and a new barbershop has moved in the small plaza.
etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social
Eventually neighbors were successful at thwarting this proposed development that would have displaced businesses, polluted the area, and caused major traffic congestion. Gas stations are not what neighbors want.
etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social
When a proposed development to displace Giovanni’s & the small businesses near it to place a gas station was announced, I convened a meeting with the developer, property owner and the neighborhood so neighbors could ask questions & express concerns.

Giovani’s Italian Bakery & Deli is one of the most beloved small businesses in the Hope Avenue neighborhood.

Omg. Omg. Omg. I confess!!! I am antifa - my Albanian grandfather fought Italian occupiers AND I am also part of the “homeless network”. Busted.
etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social
It was soo good to see you both!! Let’s go!!

Out here this chilly am. Cambridge and Southbridegs st. Who’s one of the first beeps! Councilor Haxhiaj! Go Etel! 🗳️
etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social
I’m out there talking to voters, he’s out there trolling my house. Weird. Say, you gonna show to any forums or you’re a bit scared to debate me inside the ring of ideas. 😁🥊😉

Ah yes. I’m sure these are the same folks that if their family member fell into homelessness would 1000% send them to a “poor farm” to be “cured”.

They don’t think of themselves as ever experiencing homelessness in their lives, therefore a poor farm is definitely acceptable for other people.
etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social
That we have an aspiring public servant spill out things like this on a public stage followed by claps, is very concerning.
etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social
I would’ve liked to ask: can homeless women & children in our shelters apply to this “poor farm”?
