My cat Noah has recently been on a program with a specific breakfast to aid his gastro issues. And he LOVES that breakfast and pesters us awake to get it. But if the slightest thing—perceptible only to him—is not exactly perfect then he yells for a while and paws at the food until hunger wins.

It can be very unsettling to see a sign like this with no readily apparent meaning in a place with nothing else like it. When I was a little kid in Wisconsin I always noticed a sign in a corn field on a rural road announcing an entity called “Technocracy”. No idea who or what they were.
