A great reading can bring a story to new life. That’s certainly how I felt listening to @wilwheaton.net 's recording of my story “The Odyssey Problem.” Check it out and Wil’s other recent readings of stories by @acwise.bsky.social, @kcolemanwrites.bsky.social, F.E. Choe, and @thomasha.bsky.social.
It’s Storytime with Wil Wheaton
You may recognize Wil Wheaton’s name from his acting work in television shows like The Big Bang Theory, Leverage, and Star Trek: The Next Generation, or 1985’s timeless classic, Stand B…

Solar and wind keep expanding and even though nuclear is no more coal generation has already shrunk significantly and keeps falling.

here is a wonderful piece of writing on early Flash websites that was put on my radar. it captures the culture of that era by talking about BowieNet and MTV2:

7. False Russell's fish-scale lichen.

Teeny & beautiful little lichen, with each 'scale' being only a few mm wide. Green when wet, brownish when dry.

This species is from the US, but related species occur around the world. Gotta keep an eye out for the small things.

The Ellison family’s desire to take over Warner Bros should alarm anyone concerned with U.S. propaganda & media consolidation—

They would own Paramount, Warner Bros, CNN, CBS, HBO, TikTok & a host of major cable channels

One of two memory quilts made from shirts. After doing 7 MQs for other people, these were made from my own dad’s shirts. This was for my brother. Lots of blue and even more plaid. He had a definite style.☺️

Look, the shingles vax does kinda suck.

You know what is like 10,000 times worse? Shingles.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

Pretty crazy that nearly all of the EU Commission is still on X even as Elon Musk is literally talking about destroying the EU.

You can leave X. It's really not that difficult.
So what's the outcome?

2️⃣5️⃣ of the 27 Commissioners have posted in the last week

2️⃣4️⃣ of the 27 generally post every week (Albuquerque has never been on X, Ribera is sporadic, McGrath has somehow stopped)

0️⃣ have stopped as a result of what Twitter has become since the Musk takeover

After this weekend's racist attacks on the EU, I've written a column about the moral obligation to stop posting on X.

Oh no, wait, I wrote it *two years ago* when it was blatantly obvious what was going on and how it would get much much worse.
