it took way too long but happy to see valve take a step toward fixing their awful review mechanics. they also got rid of the review awards granting steam points, something anyone with a brain would’ve immediately flagged as bad before it even got implemented. but alas
ok so these last few days Steam quietly removed that clown award that was (i paraphrase strongly) used to farm points from being a jerk???
this seems like a positive development!

"Do you know what the most popular type of art is—a genre so broadly loved that it is collected utterly apart from any market value or popular acclaim? Art made by children. Before art is visually splendid, before it is even articulate, it is valued as a connection to a consciousness in formation."

It would be good if they could properly moderate truly cruel behaviour like you have experienced - however I think addressing some of these issues at a more root cause (i.e. people are encouraged to and rewarded for trolling) is a very good step.

Alright I've been seeing #zinequest and #zinemonth for #ttrpg for years but like

what the FUCK are the structural / form / content constraints of a zine, I've never managed to understandddddddddddddddd

to me zines are whatever's made with alienmelon.itch.io/electric-zin... and that's it

unreal engine using “destroy actor” to remove things sounds so scorched earth salt the fields burn the village drastic. also not to mention what happens to child actors. gamedev is pain.
someone needs to make a game engine where all the language is wholesome. think about it 🤔💭

for part of the ending sequence it changes to a broken desktop filled with (real) hate that you have to "clean up". comments i've gotten or get regularly.
it took most of the day sifting through this stuff to get real things i can quote. peak anxiety but worth it because i get to reframe it.
