culture seems to hyper fixate on like three things (titles, games…) at a time that everyone seems to talk about, like a discourse feedback loop, the rest doesn’t get talked about enough.
i think maybe if more game devs blogged about work they like or are inspired by this would help a lot!

I’ve noticed this like, conscience soothing, mental gymnastics of “I can’t accept liking a predator so I need to do everything I can do prove this person isn’t a predator and the people who they victimized are the cause of my distress”

I keep thinking about how the actors and everyone decided that Neil Gaiman's behavior was just so horrific that they all could no longer participate in anything he had an part in creating anymore.

Why can't games do the same thing?

i struggle everyday (or every time i’m faced with people calling me unhinged crazy liar) that what was done to me (all of it) is somehow justifiable because i just don’t matter enough and if i just work hard enough, make good enough work, then i would matter enough for justice.

why are the victims such a threat to you and your fandom?
the only people ever canceled are the victims. the only difference coming forward makes is to make it harder for the predator to victimize others, because at least it’s known.
beyond that there’s no consequence or accountability.
