British politics really needs to wake up to what is happening in America given we have imported a huge amount of its culture war politics. Maybe there are some clues about what would be on the cards here under a Reform government?

Stretching the definition of a “one-on-one” a bit, CNN
COLLINS: Did it stand out to you that he said Iceland multiple times when he was talking about Greenland?

NEWSOM: And that every time a windmill turns it costs $1,000. A lot of stuff stands out. None of this is normal. There's a deviancy of consciousness. He's graded off the curve.

So, two things:
- China accounts for ~50% of the world's installed wind capacity
- Has the president heard of Texas? (yeah, it's a state, but still)
Trump: "There are windmills all over Europe. There are windmills all over the place. And they are losers. One thing I've noticed is that the more windmills a country has, the more money that country loses, and the worse that country is doing. I haven't been able to find any wind farms in China."

America’s most disconnected town — Green Bank, West Virginia — became a haven for those convinced they were being harmed by cell service/wifi in the rest of the country. But now WiFi is permitted 👀

Interesting take on the Grok issue. In sum, it's about pushing women out of the "town square"
As I've been reporting on Grok this month, I've noticed that the trend of editing modest religious/cultural garments on pictures on women is one of the most popular ways to use Grok. Up to 5 percent of Grok's output across various times I've reviewed it this month are users editing sarees onto women

Having one of those months where everything I need in the digital work is broken. Glitches on websites, broken systems, "computer says no" at every turn. Driving me insane and costing me money.

Reminds me of the time a (exhausted and sincere) friend described a dear old relative as having "come to the end of his career as a person"
Someone I used to work with (and thought was a massive tit) has announced the (sad, obviously) death of her mother on LinkedIn (I know) with this sentence: "As a leader, an entrepreneur and human, I am having to grapple with a devastating rite of passage".

Mark Carney... leader of the free world?
Mark Carney's speech really is terrific: full text is here and very much worth your time.

My sense is most Americans have zero clue just how enormous a deal this is here across the Atlantic.
The vibe shift in the EU and Canada over the weekend is unlike anything I've ever seen. US hegemony in military and economic alliances is effectively dead. History will look back and wonder how the elites in power not only did nothing to stop it but cheered it on willingly.

Satya's point here is absolutely reasonable, despite the snarky (and lazy) takes about it on here today

With Sony exiting the market, we need Apple making television sets...

Everyone raving about Claude Code but in my experience so far, Replit is by FAR the superior app for vibe coding (ugh) apps. (For the average simpleton like me). The "revert" button alone seals it. Claude keeps breaking stuff with no easy way to go back.

A friend recently asked me for some advice on books to read about writing. I got rather carried away and decided to write this blog post. It's about what writing books are for, and which titles I've found most useful in my own life.

I'd "connect" with far more people on Linkedin if accepting requests wasn't so damn irritating. Needs "Select All > Yes" urgently.
