Bemused at all the people suddenly following me, so uhh.

Hi? Here's some things to know.

I swear a lot. If you're offended by words like wankspangled knobcockle, I'm not for you.

I post many moths & other bugs. I talk/yell about alt text, chronic life, pencils, & paint. I post paint-making a lot…

A colour pencil drawing of an imaginary emperor moth. It has wide, fuzzy wings that are mint green with a cream border and red wavy horizontal stripes. There are also startling eye spots, one on each wing. Its body is also green and very, very fluffy. It has thin comb-like antennas. Although it is a fictional species it's still a very good moth friend.

Different parts of my body keep joining the fucken chat, & it pisses me off.

Existing spoonies should get a friggin exemption card for acute illness.

Or some kinda acute pain discount.

Or at least this shit could get in the queue behind flare-ups...

One thing about chronic pain/illness is that I often manage things based on how predictable they are.

Eg if I'm getting my dysport injections on time + muscle spasms = controlled, then the rest of the spoonie maths is easier to do.

Getting a shitty acute illness like covid throws everything out…

Spooky season approaches, so I'm going to repost some of my Halloween comics from years past.

A four panel comic called Happy Halloween From The Birds. In panel 1, a pileated woodpecker has pecked its huge gaping rectangular holes in a pumpkin. In panel 2, a yellow-bellied sapsucker has pecked a face using its standard rows of small holes. In panel 3, a satin bowerbird has carved a pumpkin into a bower and placed its favorite blue candies all around it. In panel 4, a loggerhead shrike has impaled mini pumpkins on a fence's metal spikes and is saying "fight me."

Wow that's weird. I have android and it lets me swear like a trooper! Wonder if that's a UK vs. US difference?

TalkBack is not the greatest at pronouncing some UK swearwords tho. It's very bad with 'twat' and related words, so I you have to put a hyphen in 'twat-muffins' to get it read correctly! 😂

Speaking of which, before the germs fully kicked in, I made a honking big batch of Sugar plum (PR101, PBk19, PW6, PB29) so I can put some in my shop as single pans, as well as in sets.

Paint-making in progress. A glass plate is covered in a thin slick of opaque violet watercolour paint, being made by combining pigment powders and a liquid binder. In the middle is a glass mulling tool, which looks a bit like an upside down glass mushroom with a flat top. It's used to smoosh a small amount of paint at a time, pushing it between the surfaces of the plate and muller to thoroughly combine pigment and binder. In the top right corner is a pool of paint waiting to be mulled. Top left is a glossy heap of gloopy fully mulled paint.
